Behind the Blooms: Organic, Modern Florals for Paige + Misha
In the fall of 2022, we had the honor of working with Paige and Misha to design the florals for their Richmond wedding. We took inspiration from the venue and season to create stunning, unique arrangements for them.
Below, see how our designs were implemented throughout their big day.
Design Style
Paige and Misha’s wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Common House, an upscale social club located in the heart of downtown Richmond. Originally a historic furniture factory, the space is full of charm from the original architecture while the thoughtfully curated interiors add a nice modern touch. We took cues from the venue when designing the florals to create an organic, modern, romantic feel.
For the ceremony, we kept the designs natural to complement the outdoor space and the organic look of the vines growing up the aged brick. Inside, the reception hall is much more modern and streamlined, so we opted for minimalism when it came to tablescape designs. Bud vases in varying sizes and more structured frog vases helped us achieve this look, while the color palette helped maintain cohesion throughout the designs in both areas.
Color Palette
Because their wedding took place in November, the couple requested neutral tones with pops of autumnal colors. With that in mind, we used an array of whites, warm pinks, and deep reds accompanied by lush greenery for their arrangements.
Another way we incorporated neutrals into our floral designs was through the bridesmaids’ bouquets. They carried baby’s breath, which stood out beautifully against their jewel-toned gowns. The fun and unexpected touch of single varietal bouquets like these is also a trend we love.
They also requested that dahlias, ranunculus, and chrysanthemums to be incorporated, which worked well with their fall color palette and overall design.
Special Touches

Sustainability is especially important to us here at Fleuressence, so we were thrilled to source local chrysanthemums of various heirloom varieties for Paige and Misha’s arrangements. They were so unique and fitting for the season and color palette of the event. Additionally, we loved seeing the traditional Jewish chuppah from their ceremony repurposed as part of their lounge area during the reception.
This is a beautiful, creative, and cost-effective way to reuse flowers throughout the day. It brings us so much joy to create custom, sustainable floral designs like these for our clients. We loved working with Paige and Misha and are so honored to have been part of their special day.
